Fundraising

I initially became a fundraiser to support my own artistic practice; however, I am also passionate about enabling other artists, arts organisations, and small charities to achieve their goals through well-planned fundraising strategies.  


Currently Head of Innovation (formerly Deputy Director of Development), LAMDA (London Academy of Music & Dramatic Art), London As part of the Partnerships and Innovation Team, responsibilities include development and management in the areas of Major Grants, Knowledge Exchange, Enterprise, and Partnership Development (including Knowledge Transfer Partnerships). Lead bid writer for the successful £1.9m grant to procure Virtual Production Technology at LAMDA.

2011-2018 Head of Trusts & Foundations, The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, London
Leading member of Central’s Department of Development and External Affairs (DEA), working closely with the Principal (Chief Executive), Director of Development and External Affairs, and the Head of Individual Giving to plan and implement Central’s comprehensive fundraising strategy to bring in support for scholarships, academic programming, and capital.  Key achievements include: authoring the School’s Development Policy, initiating monthly income and forecasting reporting systems, streamlining processes for the awarding of private scholarships, leading the 2014-2017 capital strategy to raise £2m, securing 41% in the discretionary stage of appeal.  

2009-2011 Head of Trusts & Foundations, Bush Theatre, London
Covered all aspects of fundraising and administration, and helped to shape the Development Department at the Bush.  Overall, brought in over £1.3m, increased the supporter base by 90%, the Trust & Foundation support by 87%, implemented a new annual schedule of numerous cultivation events and, to move the theatre into the Old Shepherds Bush Library, raised 30% of the capital target from Trusts & Foundations within the first four months of the appeal.

STRATEGIC DEVELOPMENT
2013-2014 Chair of Trustees for Wise Dolls, a charity using arts therapy to support female and children survivors of domestic violence.
2012-2014 Trustee for DreamArts, a charity helping young people from low-income households to be their best through quality youth arts.
